MPM: Ep.162 - The Alien Amputee Actor's Guild (AAAG)

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves | The Last Starfighter - Hey everyone! Welcome to another episode of Motion Picture Meltdown! To finish up our fantasy movie theme of February, Phil, Dehart and myself decided to struggle through seemingly one of the longest (and shittiest) fantasy movies ever, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves as well as a classic fantasy/science fiction film that was special to all of us 80's children with The Last Starfighter. In this episode you will hear us decide how we would manipulate the our paths to reaching the crown, we wonder exactly what movie Alan Rickman thinks he's in, and question Kevin Costner's constant need for a butt double. Enjoy!

MPM: Ep.161 - Merle 'n Around Town

Excalibur | The Princess Bride - Hello everyone! Welcome to another episode of Motion Picture Meltdown! Continuing our Fantasy genre theme of February, Phil, Dehart and myself go back into our comfort zone of the 80's, and go through a couple of fantasy fan favorites. We roast the 1981 King Arthur story, Excalibur, as well as one of the most amazing love story movies of all time, The Princess Bride. In this episode, we talk about whether we'd rather be the Dread Pirate Roberts or King Arthur, Phil explains his idea for a retelling of the King Arthur story, and we find out which child celebrity Dehart's parents used to call him. Enjoy!

MPM: Ep.160 - Six Degrees of Hard-On

Enemy Mine | Dune - Hello everyone! Welcome to another episode of Motion Picture Meltdown! This week Phil, Dehart and myself are joined by another fantastic special guest. Skyping in from California we welcome another of Nerds on Film's cohosts, Roxi Nobari! To continue our Science Fiction/Fantasy month, we jump back into the 80's to go through a couple of the less-than stellar and poorly received movies Enemy Mine and Dune. In this episode, Roxi fantasizes about the gay love quarrel that Dennis Quaid and an alien share, Phil talks about a mystery orgy scene in the extended version of Dune, and we all pick which 80's alien we'd least like to be marooned on a planet with. Enjoy!

MPM: Ep.159 - Ferris Bueller's Epic Ad-Frenchure.

Ladyhawke | Krull - Happy February everyone! Welcome to another episode of Motion Picture Meltdown! For this month, we've decided to go with an 80's fantasy/science fiction theme! To kick things off, our friend Sean Moriarty from the Nerds on Film Podcast has once again graced us with his presence. We start of this month by roasting through two complete fantasy films, Krull as well as Richard Donner's Ladyhawke. This week, Sean joined Dehart, Phil and myself to talk about our favorite 80's fantasy films, we decide that the actual theme of the month should be "Laziness", and Dehart and Sean finally get to talk about the Spinelli's incident together. Enjoy!
