We hope you're having a great holiday season, and we welcome you back to another episode of Motion Picture Meltdown! We have finally come to the end of our request month of December, and as we thought with last week's podcast we might get some more gifts for Christmas, once again we were wrong. After hearing us want to kill ourselves after podcasting the TMNT reboot, or friend Morgan decided he would torture our childhoods a little more by requesting us to roast through the 2014 remake of Robocop. The season wouldn't be complete if the former MPM co-host and resident asshole Mark Hinton didn't request a terrible movie for us to watch, and so indeed he has. Mark request us to bring a little Christmas hatred into our lives as we go through his movie request, Elves. In this episode, you'll hear us question why Robocop's hand was kept alive, you'll hear us discuss that Elves may be suffering from a Troll 2-like conundrum, and we all wonder why Sam Jackson has George Bush hair. In this episode, we all pick two movie props we'd like for Christmas, Phil and Cheats argue over who can't grow facial hair more, and decide that Bruce Dern from The Burbs is just Walter from The Big Lebowski. This week we continue our Holiday month of gift episodes by roasting through some requests by our faithful listener Clay Nevels, as well as Nerds on Film co-host and multiple MPM guest-host, Sean Moriarty! Clay asked us to go back into the 80's and roast through another movie where Peter Billingsly was the lead (who knew?) called The Dirt Bike Kid. Sean decided to crush all of our dreams and childhoods as he requested that we promptly fist ourselves by watching the 2014 reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. In this episode, we decide which Christmas presents we wish would become sentient, all four of us rage about the new turtles movie (as well as curse Sean's name), and try to think of what exactly Michael Bay has on Megan Fox. To start things off, we decide to bring in some diversity among the superhero sexes, as we roast through two of the most poorly received superhero movies of all time. Cheats, Dehart Phil and myself decide to take one for the team and roast through the 2005 follow-up to Daredevil in Jennifer Garner's Elektra as well as possibly the biggest shit that Hollywood has ever spent one-hundred million dollars on, Catwoman. In this episode, you'll hear us talk about what names we could come up with for a prequel without calling it the same thing, Phil and I trial by combat over the necessity of the prequel, and we decide telling "fuck you" to an alien, is really the only acceptable thing you can do. This week Dehart, Phil and myself go over a couple of "parasite" infested movies per choice of Dehart. We go back to the 70's to touch up on a film by Dehart's favorite director, David Cronenberg and roast through Shivers as well as go through a cult classic from the 80's, Night of the Creeps. In this episode, you'll hear us choose our own parasitic animal, Phil and Dehart argue about the correct way to deal with a dead axe-murderer, and we discuss exactly why so many movies use rape as a plot device. We roast the 1981 King Arthur story, Excalibur, as well as one of the most amazing love story movies of all time, The Princess Bride. In this episode, we talk about whether we'd rather be the Dread Pirate Roberts or King Arthur, Phil explains his idea for a retelling of the King Arthur story, and we find out which child celebrity Dehart's parents used to call him. In this episode, Roxi fantasizes about the gay love quarrel that Dennis Quaid and an alien share, Phil talks about a mystery orgy scene in the extended version of Dune, and we all pick which 80's alien we'd least like to be marooned on a planet with. In this episode, you'll hear us give our votes on whether Bill Murray or Johnny Depp plays the better Thompson, we discuss the specifics of the "afro-skullet", and Phil talks about exactly how terrified he would be to be around someone on...THIS many drugs. We go through the classic Mel Brooks western satire film, Blazing Saddles as well as the first big "offensive" cartoon movie, South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut! In this episode we talk about the differences between crude and cheeseball comedy, we talk about the fact that sometimes things can be forgiven for copious amounts of money, and Kevin talks about why he thinks the South Park movie is one of the few perfect films out there.
